Alice Anderson 1905-1989
Alice F. Anderson, 83, of Bagley died on Thursday, April 6, at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook.
Alice was born November 8, 1905, at Weme, Minnesota to parents, Ole and Pauline Sovick. She was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church rural Clearbrook. She was united in marriage to Carl S. Anderson on January 2, 1925, at Bagley. They moved to Shevlin in 1937. For twenty years they operated Peterson Store in Shevlin and Alice cooked at Gordon's Cafe. her husband died on August 31, 1971. In 1973, she moved to Parkview Apartments.
Alice was a member of the Clearwater Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and the Shevlin Garden Club.
She is survived by one daughter LaVonne M. Olson of Fargo, North Dakota; one son Gerry D. Anderson of Circle, Montana; four foster children; four sisters Manda Anderson of Clearbrook, Julia Magnuson of Bagley, Helen Richard of Minneapolis, Arvilla Verges of Norfolk, Virginia; one brother Reuben Sovick of Bemidji and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery at Shevlin with arrangements by the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley.
