Robert Archibald 1922-1996
Robert E. Archibald, 73, of Bagley, died suddenly on May 20, 1996.
He was born November 5, 1922, in Scobey, Montana to parents Eugene and Phyllis Archibald. He was married to Violet "Sunny" Olson in Bagley on December 22, 1944.
They had four children, Diane (Denis) Lee, Cris, Brian (Judy Hughes) and Becky (Bob) Agnew; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Surviving sisters are Margaret Zenanko of Robbinsdale and Laurel "Lolly" Ehrens of Boring, Oregon.
Bob served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was wounded on Tarawa in the South Pacific and Received a Purple Heart. After his discharge from the Marines he became a boiler maker and worked until his retirement in 1984. He has been resident of Clearwater County since 1972.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Cris and Brian Archibald; one sister, Dorthy Adkins; and one brother, Lee Archibald.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley on Thursday, May 23 with Rev. Dennis Brovold and Pastor Mardy Schermerhorn officiating. Interment will be at the Shevlin Village Cemetery in Shevlin under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley.
