Mrs. Johnson was born in Ljusvadal, Sweden, April 10, 1863, the daughter of Casper and Annie Olson. She was baptized in Sweden and confirmed in 1879 in the "Hede church" near her home. She attended school in Sweden and came to America at the age of 21 years, coming directly to Cannon Falls, Minn. The family spent one year there and then took a homestead in Lake Mary township which has been her home for the last 65 years. In 1897 she was united in marriage to John L. Johnson and they continued to farm in Lake Mary township until Mr. Johnson passed away March 15, 1931. Mrs. Johnson continued to make her home on the farm until her passing.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Carl Joseph, of Minneapolis, and three daughters, Emma, Mrs. Carl Lordalen of Lowry; Alpha, Mrs. Olaf Swedberg of Hoffman; Hattie, Mrs. Richard Hedlund of Spruce Hill; also one brother, Ole Olson, on the home place; and two sisters, Mrs. Olina Lindahl of Portland, Ore; and Ann, Mrs. S. J. Ostlund, of Cushing, Minn.; and five grandchild and two great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death, Annie in 1934 and Minnie, Mrs. Alfred Wesen in 1939.
