Rites For Mrs. Bennett To Be Held Thursday

Funeral rites for Mrs. DeWitt Bennett of Chokio, lifelong resident of the county, will be held Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8 at 2 o'clock in St. Paul's chapel of Our Savior's Lutheran church in Chokio.
Rev. Clifford Dirksen will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Chokio Cemetery.
The body will lie in state in the St. Paul chapel between one and two o'clock Wednesday for reviewal.
Mrs. Bennett died at the Stevens County Memorial hospital on Sunday, Feb. 5 at the age of 68. She had been in failing health for six months.
Ragnhild Josephine Boe was born in Synnes township on Marcch 16, 1887, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Boe. She grew to womanhood in that community and was married in the Reque church on July 20, 1910 to DeWitt Bennett. The couple lived on a farm in Stevens township until 1917, when they moved to a farm in Baker township. In 1936 they retired from the farm and moved to Chokio to make their home.
Left to mourn her death are her husband; two sons, Orville of Cutbank, Mont., and Alvert of Santa Barbara, Cal.; and three daughters, Florella (Mrs. Ervin Siebrecht) of Cutbank, Mont., Doris (Mrs. Gerald Schetdorf) of Chokio and Mrs. Evelyn Laudermilk of Cutbank, Mont. One son, DeWayne, and one daughter, Verna, preceded her in death.
She is survived also by 21 grandchildren, by one great-grandchild and by two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of Our Savoir's Lutheran church of Chokio. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of several ladies clubs.
Deceased was well and favorably known in the western part of the county.
