Mrs. James M. Baker Dead: Resident Here Many Years
Ella Talbot was born at Avon, Maine, January 4, 1864, the only child of Emily Carson and Archibald Talbot. She came to Minnesota with her parents when a child and lived in Jordan township with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Carson. Her parents both died there and she continued to make her home with the Carson's until her marriage March 21, 1886 to James M. Baker.
They resided on a farm in Jordan township for a good many years, moving to Chatfield in the autumn of 1919 where she passed away Monday morning, June 30, 12:15.
She leaves her husband and three children, James Clarence Baker and Mrs. Mary Meeker of Jordan township and Mrs. Lucy Aney at home. Also five grandchildren and one great grandson.
Her home was her sanctuary and her family and friends were all beloved by her, and all who knew her. She has gone to claim the reward for which she has always prayed.
Funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon with Rev. S.C. Jepson of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in the Chatfield cemetery.
