Cecile Marie (Cornelius, Gabrielson) Deibler,64, of Virginia, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at her home. She was born Sept. 8, 1941 in Wellsville, New York, The daughter of Rev. Amos and Lula (Dimmick) Cornelius. She moved with her family to Minnesota, July 1, 1958. Then attended the Big Fork High School where she graduated. After high school she attended the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She worked as a nurse until 1979. Cecile was united in marriage to the father of her children, Gerald E. Gabrielson on August 13, 1966. Together they owned and operated Cecile's Lostweek Inn in Gheen for four years. She also worked in various restaurants as a cook.
Cecile married her second husband, James Deibler on July 2, 1990 at the Sand Lake Chapel.
She started working at Fortune Bay in 1996 in housekeeping and was a supervisor in housekeeping at the present time. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds, being outdoors, spoiling her grandchildren, and taking road trips with her good friend Judy King.
She is survived by her three sons: Eric Gabrielson of Cook, Lars (Violet) Gabrielson, and Nels (Mary) Gabrielson both of Orr. One daughter: Serena (Alex Anderson) Gabrielson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. One step-son: Brad (Sharon O'Donnell) Deibler of Richfield, Mn, Two sisters: Mary (Raymond) Lee of Perry, New York and Catherine (Jim) Powers of Togo, MN. Two sister-in-laws: Mary T. Bird of Hibbing and Audrey Cornelius of Togo, Mn. Six grandchildren: Carrie, Nels, Luke, and Gage Gabrielson and Bruce and Patricia McCarthy. Two step-grandchildren: Brianna and Baylee Deibler. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rev. Amos (62, 1976) and Lula (72, 1989) Cornelius, husband James (Oct. 25, 1998) and two brothers Russell Cornelius (Jan. 11, 2004) and Darrell Cornelius (April 30, 1995).
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Tuesday (May 16th) at the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. Rev. Arthur Dale will be the officiant. Special music played by Michelle Horack. The casket bearers are, John Barto, Rodney Barto, Ernie Barto Jr., Frank Barto Sr., Dan Hill, Glen Stevenson, John Bergman and Mitch Cheney. Honorary bearers are her Grandchildren. Interment in the Carpenter Cemetery in Togo.
