Mabel Ehlert, 84

Mabel Constance was born on August 15, 1913 in Garfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Swen and Constance (Peterson) Swenson. She attended grade school in Garfield and LaGrande Township and graduated from Alexandria High School.

Mabel was united in marriage to Harold Ehlert on November 8, 1941 in Alexandria. The couple resided in the Garfield, Carlos area most of their married life. Mr. and Mrs. Ehlert worked together at their convenience store for many years. About 15 years ago Mabel lost her eye sight.

Mrs. Ehlert died on Thursday, January 8, 1998, in Osakis.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; two sisters: Ruby Clyne of Fargo, North Dakota; Muriel Snyder of Levitown, Pennsylvania; four nieces, one nephew, two great nieces, four great nephews and two great great nieces.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 10, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos with Reverend Robert Petersen officiating. Musical selections were by Joan Petersen.

Inurnment was at the Carlos Prairie Cemetery in Carlos.

Services were directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Home.
