Birth: 1839
County Cork, Ireland
Death: May 28, 1928
Waseca County
Minnesota, USA

Bap. 2-20-1839 Fornaught Townland, Donoughmore Parish, County Cork, Ireland.

The Waldorf community was saddened Monday evening when it learned of the passing of Mrs. Joseph Adams, Sr., who was lovingly known to many in this county as "Grandma Adams." Death came peacefully at 11:30 p.m., following a short illness due to the infirmities of old age. She had been seriously ill for ten days. Her passing was at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Munsch. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland at 9:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. A. H. Scheid officiating. Interment was made in the Calvary Cemetery. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Munsch of New Richland, Daniel of New Richland, Matt of Valleytown, Montana, Mrs. P. L. Hawkins, and Tim Adams of Waldorf. Her husband passed away in 1926. Two children are also deceased: Frank who passed away several years ago and Joseph died last year. Born April 20, 1840 in the County of Cork, Ireland, the daughter of Daniel and Hannah Linnihan, Margaret Linnihan came to America in 1852 when she was 12 years old, with her parents and between 25 and 30 other families of Linnihans. They settled in Wisconsin where she married Joe Adams in 1865. They came to Waseca County in the spring of 1867 and settled in Freedom Township, where they made their home and many friends. Mrs. Munsch is now living on the home farm. The pallbearers at the funeral were her grandchildren: Cyril and James Hawkins, Harold and Francis Adams, Edward Adams, and Merlin Munsch. Among those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tim Callahan of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mahler of Mankato, Edward Adams of Minneapolis, Jas. Mahler of Mankato, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Donovan of Minneapolis, Miss Psyche Adams of Rochester, Iver Dunham of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. James Cunningham, Miss Martha Cunningham, and Miss Ellen Mackey all of Mankato, and John and Frank Whoole of Watertown. The STAR joins with many others in extending sympathy to the bereaved children.
