George Irvin Armstrong, 73, died at his home in Bemidji. He was born at Muscatine, Iowa and spent his early life in Iowa. He lived in Cloquet before moving to Bemidji in 1921 where he was an employee of the box factory several years.

Surviving are his widow, the former Vally Alexander, to whom he was married in Bemidji in 1933; a son, Robert, of Cleveland, Ohio; a stepson, Irvin Rude of Bemidji; a daughter, Mrs. Chas. Reed of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Mrs. Ed Christianson, Bemidji, four grandchildren; a great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Ollie Sparkman of Muscatine. ((Bemidji Daily Pioneer, May 16, 1966)
