Emily Anne Schwartz was born on February 24, 1909 on the family farm in Hansonville Township, Linoln County, to Otto and Mary (Hemish) Schwartz, Sr. She was raised in Hansonville Township, and attended rural school there. Emily was married to Edward Victor on June 10, 1931 in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. Edward died in 1947. She and Frank Ochocki were married at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Canby on November 16, 1948. Frank died in 1980. She was baptized and received her First Holy Comunion at St. Peter's Catholic Church in October of 1948, and was confirmed there in 1949. She lived on the family farm in rural Canby until her death. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, an honorary member of the C.C.W., a member of the Western Fraternal Life Association and the Royal Neighbors of America. Emily enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, flowers, gardening and doing fieldwork. She did embroidering, crocheting, quilting and she enjoyed reading and writing letters.
She is survived by two daughters: Mildred (Ray) Roberts of Albert Lea, MN; Josephine (Walter) Lacek of Canby; Edward A.(Angeline) Victor and Frank J. (Marsha) Ochocki all of Canby. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred (John) Vernlund and Erma Ochocki of Canby and one brother Otto A. Schwartz, Hendricks, MN and her aunt Erma Vance of Canby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a son in infancy.
