Joaquin "Flash" Jurado Alvarado, 63, of Calexico, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short illness Saturday, October 28, in Calexico.
Joaquin was born January 9, 1943, in Calexico. He graduated form high school in 1961. He married Nellie Robles October 23, 1962 in El Centro.
Joaquin worked as a truck driver for Haynes and Schaefer in Calexico for 37 years. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Rosarito B.C. where he lived for 8 years.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico.
Mass will be officiated by Father Ruben Valenzuela Wednesday, November 1, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico, commencing at 1 p.m.
Joaquin was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Maria Jurado Alvarado and siblings, Raul Alvarado and Leonor (Noy) Valenzuela.
Joaquin is survived by his wife, Nellie Robles Alvarado; daughter, Guadalupe Alvarado Dilan of Chula Vista; son, Joaquin Alvarado Jr. of Moreno Valley; daughter, Pauline Alvarado Solano of Calexico. 13 grandchildren; siblings, George, Tony Alvarado and Mary Helen A Flores of Imperial Valley, Virginia (Nicky) A. Jimenez, Lupe A. Faz, Geneva A. Camarena and Mario Alvarado of San Diego.
Chato will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
