Carl L. "Carlie" Anderson, 90, a resident of Broen Memorial Home, died Sunday, July 27, at the home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at First
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Lauren Youngdale officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
He was born Carl L. Anderson Dec. 20, 1895, at Odin, one of 11 children of Andrew and Elisa (Knoff) Anderson. In 1902 the family moved to Carlisle Township, and he attended School District 96. He served in the military in France during World War I and, after his discharge in 1919, he returned to work at the Erhard bank.
On June 28,1922, he and Olga Kittleson were married in Erhard. They moved to South St. Paul, where he worked for Armour Packing Co. then returned to Carlisle in 1927 to farm on the family homestead. His wife died Nov. 15, 1952. In 1953 he moved to Fergus Falls and worked as a carpenter. He moved to the Broen Home in 1983.
Mr. Anderson was a member of First Lutheran Church and World War I Barracks.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Burnett (Arlene) Bordson of Fergus Falls; two sons, Clarence and Duane, both of Fergus Falls; seven of nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Helmer of Fergus Falls and George of Sun City, Ariz.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at 0lson Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
