Loretta Leona Anderson, 91, of Underwood, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at ELEAH Medical Center in Elbow Lake.

Loretta was born on Oct. 9, 1916, in West-brook.She was one of four children of William and Martha (Gertner) Schmalz. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. She grew up and attended school in District 59.

On Sept. 3, 1940, she married Willie A. Anderson. The couple farmed in Storden, Graceville and Parkers Prairie areas. In 1965, they moved to Dalton and later purchased and together operated the Dalton Meat Locker plant until their retirement. After Willie's passing, she moved to Jefferson, Ore.

In October 2007 she returned to Underwood area to live.

She was a member of Our Saviors Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, who died Feb. 10, 1989; and two daughters, Janice and Judith; two brothers, Art and Harold Schmalz; and a grandson, Michael Anderson.

Survivors include three sons, Alfred (Jana) Anderson of Shelbyville, Tenn., Steven (Sharen) Anderson of Dalton, Scott (Patti) Anderson of Ogema; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Wednesday, at the funeral home

Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls
