Harlan Gerber, age 49, of Porter, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 06, 2008 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Full Gospel Assembly in Canby with Pastor LeRoy Hopper officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008 at Birk Funeral Home in Canby. Interment will be in the Augusta Cemetery, Marietta, MN.
Harlan Dean Gerber was born May 17, 1958 in Canby MN, the son of Edward and Annabelle (Finney) Gerber. He was baptized at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby and confirmed in Augusta Lutheran Church in Marietta. He was raised on a farm southwest of Marietta and graduated from Appleton High School in 1977. He worked at the Eastside Machine Shop in Madison for many years, along with various other jobs. He was currently working at Casey's General Store in Canby.
He was a member of Full Gospel Assembly. He enjoyed working on his pickups and tractors, visiting with family and friends, going to auctions, fishing and watching parades, but most of all Harlan loved spending time with his Uncle Leonard.
Harlan will be deeply missed by his five siblings: Lin (John) Roeder of Ortonville, Leroy Gerber of Canby, Sandi (Norman) Raap of Roslyn, SD, Doug (Julie) Gerber of Marietta, Cheryl Peterson of Eden Prairie; seven nieces and nephews: Jodi (Dave) Talley of Sioux Falls, SD, Scott Roeder of Champlin, Jeremy (Sheri) Raap of Watertown, SD, Nicole (Jeremy) Skoglund of Huron, SD, Kyle Gerber of Huron, SD, Mindy Gerber of Marietta, Nick Peterson of Eden Prairie; aunt, Hazel Lokken of Canby; and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley.
