Edward P. Appenzeller, of Millington, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, in the Bay Health Care Center, Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 80. Mr. Appenzeller was born in Bristol, Pa., the son of the late Charles Wesley and Margaret "Decker" Appenzeller. Mr. Appenzeller attended Fallsington High School and moved to Delaware in 1952. In 1960, he moved to Queen Anne's County Maryland where he farmed for the remainder of his life. For many years, Mr. Appenzeller enjoyed canoeing and hunting as well as trapping. He loved to play baseball and football and was an avid collector of Toy Tractors. Mr. Appenzeller was a past member of the Millington Vol. Fire Co. Mr. Appenzeller is survived by his son, Edward Appenzeller Jr. and his wife Jan of Millington, Md.; two daughters, Barbara Jean Appenzeller of Smyrna, and Mary Gail Appenzeller of Preston, Md.; one brother, Austin Appenzeller of Sudlersville, Md.; and one sister, Jane Monett of Lewes; three grandchildren, Trey Appenzeller, April Appenzeller, and Tammy Hastings, all of Millington, Md.; and four great-grandchildren, Kayla Appenzeller, Alyssa Appenzeller, Meygan Hastings, and Bailee Hastings, all of Millington, Md. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in the Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the Community Volunteer Fire Co. Millington, MD. P.O.
