Edith E. Bartholomew
Edith E. Bartholomew, age 96, of Willows died February 20, 2004, at the Riverside Convalescent Hospital in Chico.
Edith was born October 9, 1907 to John and Sarah Nelson of Maxwell. She was raised in Maxwell. After her graduation from Maxwell High School, she moved to Willows where she met George Bartholomew. They were married November 6, 1929.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling. She also hosted the Willows Travelers for 30 years.
She is survived by her sons, Leo Bartholomew of Harbor, Oregon, Eugene Bartholomew of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Gerald Bartholomew of Los Banos, California; one daughter, Carol Cameron of Willows; 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George Bartholomew, who died June 13, 1981, her sister Elizabeth Spooner and brother Pete Nelson.
She was buried in the Maxwell Cemetery. – Transcribed by M.
