"Alta Elizabeth Armacost, 75, of Westminster, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Homewood at Plum Creek, in Hanover, Pa., after an extended illness of Alzheimer's disease.
Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. Wine and Carrie W. Undegraft Wine Fischer. She was raised by the late Sterling and Alta Bixler. She was the wife of the late Bernard S. Armacost Sr., her husband of 53 years.
She was a housewife and stay-at-home mother who enjoyed gospel and country music, gardening and Bible study. She was an avid traveler and a member of the No Problem club. She was a member of Krider's United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son of Glen Burnie; three daughters of Westminster, a daughter of Waynesboro, Pa, several grandchildren, brother-in-law Kenneth Armacost, nephew, and half-sister.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Scott Morgan officiating. Interment will be in Krider's United Church of Christ cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 t0 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home."
