Caroline Houck Michael was born in between Mountaindale and Bethel on a 30 acre farm on the side of a mountain, a daughter of Peter and Maria Snook Houck and was the first wife of Abraham Michael of Mountaindale.
Caroline and husband farmed a 48 acre farm called "NEW GERMANY" that is located today on the east side of Putman Road, South of Mountaindale.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, "Annie" Anna Margaret E. Michael Angleberger and husband Edward Isaiah and Florence J. Michael --?-- and five sons, Simon Peter Michael, Granville J. Michael, Franklin E. Michael, Charles E. Michael and Maurice "Morris" W. Michael and was predeceased by one son, Howard Michael, October 23, 1856.
She was a sister to the following siblings, two sisters, Margaret Ann Elizabeth Houck --?-- and Ann Maria Houck --?-- and two brothers, Edward Houck and Issac Houck and was predeceased by one brother, Peter Houck Jr.
The 45 acres of the original 48 acres that Abraham and Caroline had assembled with a few purchases has been a 45 acre farm for over the last 110 years.
