Former Bremerton resident Raymond Abundis Sr., 82, of Twin Falls, Idaho, died Dec. 2 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born in Del Rio, Texas, to Manuel and Dionisia Abundis. He graduated from high school in Los Angeles.
On Dec. 15, 1945, he married Charlotte Lopez in Jerome, Idaho. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Mr. Abundis served in the Army as a medic and went on to work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1987. He moved to Twin Falls in 1989.
He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond Abundis Jr. of Port Orchard, Paul Abundis and his wife, Maxine, of Wauna, Wash., Charles Abundis of Gig Harbor and Peter Abundis of Spokane; seven daughters, Angie Huntsman and her husband, Dave, of Iona, Idaho, Stephanie Malone and her husband, Gary, of Twin Falls, and Marilyn Molsee and her husband, Cary, of Pocatello, Idaho, Anita Abundis and Laura Tripp, both of Bremerton, Betty Himes and her husband, Mark, of Las Vegas, and Amy Evans and her husband, Dan, of Port Orchard; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Abundis was preceded in death by two sons, Andrew and Johnny Abundis, a brother and sister.
A rosary was said and a Mass celebrated at St. Edward The Confessor Catholic Church in Twin Falls.
