SUGAR CITY - Lyle H. "Boppy" Andersen, age 73, of Sugar City, died Thursday, April 24, 2003. He was born May 15, 1929 at Alexander, Idaho to Irvin W. and Alda Hansen Andersen. He graduated from McCammon High School as class valedictorian. He also graduated from Idaho State University with honors.
He married Anita R. Cutler August 10,1951 in Tyhee, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS temple.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a bishop in American Falls. He was an educator and principal; as well as a coach for the sports of baseball, basketball and football on the high school level. He was a professor at Ricks College and was chairman of the Health Science department.
Survivors include his wife, Anita R. Andersen; children, Dana (Dale McClellan), Nicki Stears (Jay Yarber), Rex (Heather Hill); a brother, Eugene Andersen (Gloria); and three sisters, Betty Farnworth (Grant), Norma Armstrong (Cecil) and Carolyn Meile (Ronald).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Sugar City LDS Stake Center.
Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
