Charles Wendel Adams

Charles W. Adams, age 77, of Boise, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at a Phoenix, Ariz., hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Chapel of the Chimes, 105 E. Carlton, Meridian, to be followed by a short graveside service at the Meridian Cemetery.

Charles, "Charlie" was born at Boise, and was Meridian area. Charlie briefly at a young age, and had two children. He then married Evelyn Lampe of Meridian in 1952. They resided at Banks until her death in 1973. They had six children.

Charlie married Dorothy Hoopes in 1978, and they were married for 23 years at the time of his death.

Charlie is survived by his Dorothy; and his children; Travis Fleetwood of Caldwell (his wife Linda, children Tanya and Travis); Caris Fleetwood of Caldwell (his wife Betty, children Tony and Todd; Carl Adams of Garden Valley (his wife Misti); James Adams of North Pole, Alaska; and Clarence Adams of Winston, Ore. (his wife Stephany, children Jason, Tim, Tamarah). He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Adams; daughter, Vickie Adams, sons, Larry David Adams.

Charlie enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and the summers in Boise after he retired from the Idaho State of Highways in 1981, with 21 years of service.

Charlie was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War II.

Charlie also enjoyed working with any type of heavy equipment, and watching the desert bloom in the spring.

He will be missed by those who knew him.
