Kenneth Avon Anderson, 82, of Rexburg, died Oct. 16, 2008, in Idaho Falls.
He was born June 15, 1926, to Randall and Edna Anderson in Shelley, Idaho. He worked with his father and family on the family farm and ranch in Shelley. They enjoyed many picnics and adventures to Yellowstone and Island Park. He graduated from Shelley High School. He served a mission for the LDS Church to New Zealand for 21/2 years. This was where Kenneth was introduced to art and painting, which he continued throughout his life. He attended Ricks College and continued his pursuit of art.
He married his eternal sweetheart, Beth Sessions, on June 27, 1952, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a carpenter and homebuilder. He established Grandview Art Studio and taught art lessons. He taught at the Ricks College continuing education program. He painted greeting cards that have been received by many throughout the world. He was a landlord for many years. He believed the U.S. Constitution was inspired by God-fearing men. He helped organize Citizens for Better Government. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions including scoutmaster, ward clerk, gospel doctrine instructor and home teacher. He and his wife served in the Idaho Falls Temple. He shared his testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ through a lifelong example of service. He left a legacy of love to his wife, children and posterity. He returned peacefully to Heavenly Father on a beautiful evening surrounded by family. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Anderson; children, of Idaho Falls, of Rexburg, of Santa Clara, Utah, and of Smithfield, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, of Shelley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Edna Anderson; siblings, Rex Anderson, Mervin Anderson (infant), Arlan Anderson, Wanda Wheeler and Beulah Alvord; and grandson, Scott Anderson.
