William Roland Aegan, Sr.

William Roland Aegan, Sr., age 74, of Rock Cave, WV died Friday, March 7, 2008 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born December 18, 1933 in Rock Cave, a son of the late Dana C. and Mabel Fitzgerald Aegan. On September 29, 1962 he married Mary Jean Gay Mourey who preceded him in death on August 7, 2004. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, David Aegan and one brother, Joe Aegan. He is survived by four sons, William R. Aegan, Jr., and wife Beth of Buckhannon, Thomas Aegan of Gilbert, AZ, Richard Aegan and wife Rebecca of Vichy, MO and Dana Charles Aegan and wife Kristina of Buckhannon; four daughters, Victoria Shroyer and husband Rocky of Moravian Falls, NC, Robin Lantz and husband Robert of Bridgeport, WV, Genevia Phillips of Buckhannon and Nancy Belle Heater and husband Wesley of Buckhannon; twelve grandsons, Rocky Todd Shroyer, Derrick Aegan, Rodney Shroyer, Justin Lantz, Christian Heater, William Thomas Aegan, Anthony Duke Phillips, Wyatt Aegan, Aaron Aegan, Hank Phillips, Jacob Aegan and Jack William Heater; three granddaughters, Faith Victoria Aegan, Lilly Jean Heater and Hailey Nicole Aegan; one great-grandson, Isaac Gage Shroyer; two sisters, Betty Lou Bastain of MD and Mabel Sue Silvers of OR; and three brothers, Harry Aegan of PA, Richard Aegan of PA and Robert Aegan of GA. Mr. Aegan was a bridge builder for Orders Construction. He was a member of the Wayside Baptist Church and the United Steel Workers Local # 14614. He served in the US Army Special Police Forces while Stationed in Germany. Friends will be received Monday, March 10, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Beryl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave.
