Laverne Naomi Albonico passed away at the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital at 1:00 pm November 1st, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Walter and Gertrude Terkelsen on April 4th, 1925 in Ferndale, at the Ferndale General Hospital. She was raised on her family's dairy farm in Ferndale and graduated from Ferndale High School. She then moved to Eureka to raise her own family. Laverne was very proud of her Ferndale heritage and had so many wonderful stories to tell about the lovely town. Laverne worked at Daly's Department Store for much of her career prior to taking a job at Wells Fargo where she retired after many years of service. She passes on to be with loving husband, John Albonico, brother, Ray Terkelsen, and sister, Mildred Terkelsen, Survived by: brother, Leroy Terkelsen, sons, Allen and Darrell Albonico, grandchildren, Epi Albonico, Karie Kelder, and Nathan Albonico, great grandchildren, Nichole, Monique, Justine, Brittany, Grace, Zoey, and Claire, great great granddaughter, Payton and numerous nieces and nephews. Laverne was a bright light to many, helping out all those she could. She had such a good heart that she became a mom or grandma to many others. She thought and cared about everyone she met. She was the kind of person that would leave special homemade treats for the garbage collector. Laverne was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church. As the years went on she started attending Emmanuel Lutheran Church to be closer to home. She was an avid quilter, a passionate cribbage player, and amazing crafter. She loved to travel and meet new people. She was a member of many clubs and associations.
