Ella B. Baker Laid To Rest

Funeral services for Ella Belle Baker, age 84, were conducted Sunday at 2 P.M. in Bluff Creek Christian Church by the Rev. John Parish and the Rev. James Meyers. Burial was in Bluff Creek Cemetery. Her many friends called at the J.C. Wilson Funeral Home to pay final respects.

Mrs. Baker, who had been in failing health several years, died Thursday of last week at 8:15 P.M. in her home west of Bluff Creek.

Born in Morgan County, May 13, 1868, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Henderson) Groseclose. She attended schools in White River Township. She was united in marriage to Rees Baker who died in 1937. Mrs. Baker had lived in this community most of her life and was a member of the Bluff Creek Church.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold Baker, of Greenwood, RR 3, and Arthur Baker of Mooresville, two daughters, Letha Borders, of Indianapolis, and Zenith Wallace of Brooklyn, two brothers, Grover Groseclose, of Morgan County, and Jacob Groseclose, of Indianapolis, one sister, Stella Perry, of Budd, 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
