|Birth: ||Jun. 9, 1942|
|Death: ||Apr. 14, 1957|
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, April 17, for Ann Elizabeth Beeman, 14, who passed away Sunday shortly before noon. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beeman of Eagleville.
Death has been atributed to an overdose of medicine she was taking for a cold as well as a mixture of several medicines. According to the County Coroner E. R. Server just exactly what caused her death cannot be decided until reports come back from laboratory tests.
Ann, who was a freshman in the Surprise Valley high school, got up Sunday morning about 11 and dressed then took some medicine and went over to her granmother's house, Mrs. Elizabeth Meyers, who lives but a short distance from the Beeman residence. She spent a few minutes visiting with her grandmother and then keeled over from a heart stoppage.
Ann was well liked by her school mates and was unusually active in school activities and in the Eagleville community where she was born June 9, 1942. She graduated from the Eagleville elementary school there and this was her first year in high school. She was a member of the
4-H club in which she held the office of secretary and was also active in the Eagleville Pilgrim Fellowship group. Last week she spent considerable time and effort working with Martha Cook on the Cancer Crusade fund drive in Eagleville.
She is survived by her mother and father, Edna and Henry Beeman; a sister, Ruth; brother, Fred; grandmother Elizabeth Meyers, all of Eagleville; one grandfather, Albert Beeman of Willows; Aunts Mary Meyers of Sacramento, Mrs. Mark Hanson and Mrs. Virgil Hill of Fair Oaks, Mrs. Dale Herigstad of Salem, Oregon, Mrs. Chas. Huster of Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. R. S. Garramani of Denver, Colorado and Uncles Don Beeman of Bijou, California, and Albert Beeman Jr. of Coffeeville, Kansas, as well as numerous cousins.
Services were held in the Eagleville Community church with Rev. Roger Smith as the minister and under the direction of Kerr Mortuary.
Pallbearers were schoomates of Ann and were as follows: Calvin Heryford, Keith Wilson, Marcel Miura, Wayne Dollarhide, John Cox and Joe Bicondoa. Honarary pallbearers were Raymond Sweet, Kenneth Sweet, Jim Wilson, Larry Bucher, Bob Heard and Eddie Stevenson.
We join with the rest of the Valley in offering our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
