Death has claimed Jeanne Areche [sic], a venerable 91 year old resident of Cedarville.
She died in the hospital there February 1st and had been invalaid for the past six years following hip surgery.
She was a native of Banca, France where she was born on October 3, 1884. She moved to the United states and western Nevada as a young girl where she married the late John Laxague. (her husband was killed by Indians in what is generally regarded as the last Indian uprising in the country: (Little High Rock Massacre) exactly 65 years ago this month.
She later married John Arreche of Cedarville who preceded her in death in 1967. In all, she was a resident of Modoc County for more than 70 years.
Survivors include sons John and George Laxague and George arreche of Cedarville and daughter Faye Harrington of San Mateo. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Rosary was at St. James Church in Cedarville Tuesday evening and services and burial were in Cedarville Wednesday.
