Mae Marie Ader "Marie," a longtime resident of Cromberg, transitioned on Wednesday March 9, 2011.
Marie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend to many.
Marie was born July 8, 1925, in Antlers, Okla., to Arkie Marr and Myrtice Bagwell. She married the love of her life, Francis W. Ader, in Berkeley March 19, 1949.
She lived with Francis in Richmond, where they started their family of two daughters. In 1965, Marie and Francis moved to Cromberg where she remained until her passing.
Marie worked for the United States Forest Service, Beckwourth Ranger District, from May 1972 until her retirement in May of 1994, where she was loved and respected. Marie was active in her community, an avid bowler participating on several leagues.
Marie was devoutly religious and involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years. She was a proud member of Eastern Star and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She will always be remembered as a lover of the outdoors and a gardener with skills to be envied.
Marie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Francis W. Ader.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gail (Dan) Billa and Linda (Alan) Williams; her grandchildren Tracy, Shannon, Joseph, Justin and Ricky; and her three great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She will be remembered lovingly and missed by all.
A celebration of her life was held March 19 with services at the Cromberg cemetery surrounded by her family and friends. Marie and Francis celebrated their 62nd anniversary together on the day of her interment, the first together in several decades.
