Birth: Oct. 19, 1825
Death: Apr. 28, 1907

Son of Isaac Boyce and Sarah Dennison.

Daily Notes, Canonsburg, Washington Co PA, Monday 29 April 1907, page 02 - JOSEPH BOYCE, 82 years old, one of the best known residents of the Central Chartiers valley, died Sabbath at his home near Boyce station. He was one of a large family which has been closely identified with the history of western Allegheny county, and with his brothers, one of whom was a former member of the Pennsylvania legislature, took a lively interest in the politics of the day. Joseph Boyce was born in 1825, in the same house in which he died, the homestead being one of the oldest places in the western section of Allegheny county and has been in possession of the Boyce family for more than 150 years. He was married in 1847 to SARAH JANE YOUNG, surviving her only a few years. The surviving members of his family are WILLIAM P. and JAMES BOYCE, and MRS. FREED, of Boyce station, and REV. ISAAC BOYCE, who is at present stationed in Mexico in charge of a mission. Joseph Boyce served through the Civil war as a member of Company K, First Pennsylvania volunteer cavalry, and was a member of Captain Espy Post, G.A.R., of Carnegie. Funeral Tuesday at 12 o'clock from the late home of the deceased.
