Heath Angelo, Jr. passed away in Oakland, CA on January 3, 2010.
He was born in San Francisco, CA on September 27, 1913 and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, he obtained a masters degree in Business Administration at Stanford University. Heath served in the US Navy during World War II. In 1945, he was the commander of the USS Patterson, participating in various South Pacific campaigns immediately prior to the Allied victory. He retired in 1959 from the US Naval Reserve with the rank of Rear Admiral.
For more than six decades, he was active in real estate, as VP with Coldwell, Banker and as a partner in Angelo & Miles and as an independent realtor in Oakland, CA. He served in various key positions in the business community, such as President of the Oakland Real Estate Board. Heath was an enthusiastic world traveler and student of international art & literature.
Heath is survived by his wife, Gail W. Angelo, sons, Glenn & Robb, and daughter-in-law, Emma, and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA.
