Mrs. Agnes Dyas Dies Here Tuesday, Funeral Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Dyas, 61, a long-time Orland resident, will be held Saturday in St. Dominic's Catholic Church here.
Mrs. Dyas, owner of the Richelieu Café here, died in her sleep Tuesday morning at her home at 810 Papst avenue. She was found by Orland police who were notified and went to her home after she failed to appear at the Richelieu as was her custom. She had been in failing health for some time.
A rosary service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Friday at the Sweet chapel here. Requiem mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Dominic's with Rev. Fr. Thomas Boland officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
Born Dec. 10, 1904, in Shaw, Ore., Mrs. Dyas first came to Orland in 1912 when her family bought ranch property west of Orland.
She grew up here and then lived for a number of years in the bay area and Sacramento. She was a member of the Oakland Eastern Star chapter. Mrs. Dyas returned here about 15 years ago and made her home with her brother, the late Bill Amort, from whom she inherited the local business.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Roy Merrill of Hillsboro, Ore., a brother, Herman Amort of Salem, Ore.; and one niece and one nephew. - Transcribed by M.
