He met my grandmother when she was traveling from Spain to Panama and they courted for about 10 years by mail. My grandmother traveled to Cuba to get married and they returned to the US via New Orleans on 24 Mar 1924. They settled in San Francisco and raised a family before moving to Redwood City. They moved to Sonoma County about 1969.
