Ramona Lerma Abeyta died November 29, 2003 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital in Hollister. She was 90. Mrs. Abeyta was born in Mexico and lived in Hollister for nearly 75 years. Before that, she lived in the San Joaquin Valley and Coachella Valley working in agriculture and was a nurse's aid in Anaheim for some time. She liked music and the color red and was a very prayerful person. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Abeyta is survived by her children and their spouses, Sonny Lerma of Oregon, Sally and Bob Mooney of Anaheim, Jennie Gutierrez of Hollister and Bob and Amelia Lerma of Gilroy, her sisters Margaret Hayes of Riverside, Teresa Gaxiola of Sunnyvale and Katie Limon of Orange County. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Mass was held on December 3, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Internment and graveside services followed at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister.
