David was born June 27, 1947 to Tom and Hilda Alger in Bellflower, California.
He is survived by his sister, Adrienne Mathews, Bakersfield, California; brothers, Ray Alger and wife, Mary Alger, Oakdale, California, Gerald Alger and wife, Barbara Alger, Littleton, Colorado and Tom Alger and wife, Sherri Alger, Friona, Texas; sister, Charlene Koontz and husband, Bob Koontz, Merrimack, New Hampshire; fifteen nieces and nephews; and twenty-seven great nieces and great nephews.
David was a member of the CIF Championship basketball team of Valley Christian High School of 1968. He then graduated from Valley Christian High School in 1969 and was also a graduate of Cerritos College with an AA degree. David worked in the ag industry for forty plus years.
One of his last accomplishments was a community leader and fund raiser for the Alzheimers Association in the Ripon/Modesto chapter. David loved family, sports and above all God. He was loved by many and touched many lives in a very unique way.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 from 3:30-8 PM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.
Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10am a graveside service will be held at Burwood Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:30 at Almond Valley Christian Reformed Church.
