1938 - 2013

Ira F. Blevins, 74, of Augusta, a former resident of Rowan County, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at The Care Center of Kenton Pointe in Maysville.

Mr. Blevins was born March 28, 1938, in Rowan County, a son of the late William Orville and Lela Mae Tackett Blevins.

For 25 years Mr. Blevins worked as an auto electric technician at Maysville Generator Company. He was baptized October 27, 2001, at the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Rowan County.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy Blevins, Arnie Blevins, Lee Blevins, and Cecil Blevins.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Lee Henson Blevins, whom he married on March 11, 1967, one son, Darian (Heather) Blevins of Dover, two daughters, Rhonda Blevins of Dover and Amanda Blevins of Augusta, three grandchildren, Erica Renee (Eric) Dearing, Cindy Leann Blevins, and Darrin Kyle Blevins, two brothers, Albert Blevins and Bill Blevins, and four sisters, Nellie Poston, Ruby Boone, Joca Faye Sloan, and Lilly Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Brell and Son Funeral Home in Maysville, with Elder Cephas Littleton and Elder Noel Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday atthe funeral home.
