Freeman Acord, 53, of Bolt, died Thursday at 3:53a.m. in a Princeton hospital of natural causes.
Born May 22, 1932, in Wyoming County, he was a son of the late Noah Evert and Pearl Cook Acord.
Mr. Acord was a member of Shiloh Community Church, was an Army veteran and was a coal miner working for Consolidated Coal Co. at rowland Mine.
He was a member of United Mine Workers, Local 1330.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Acord.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Surratt Acord; three brothers, Jack Acord of Madison, Ohio; Dale Acord of Auburndale, Fla.; and Tracy Acord of Hopewell, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Luther (Lottie) Cook of Ravencliff; Joy Lester of Medford, Ore.; and Mrs. Paul (Trecy) Poling of Geneva, Ohio.
Services will be Sunday at 1:p.m. at the Melton Mortuary chapel in Beckley with the Revs. Jerry Brooks and Wade Webb officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
Pallbearers will be Mark Daniel, Gary Hall, Jim Turner, Dale Carper, Larry Allen, and Bobby Furey.
