Surviving are his children, Ellen (Richard) Ocheltree, Diane (Roger) Tracy, Marilyn Kiddy, whom he was living with at the time of his passing; David Godfrey, Sandra (Gary) Swisher, Ruth (Ralph) Carson and John (Sharon) Godfrey, a daughter-in-law, Marlo Godfrey; a sister, Leona Crews; a brother, Bud (Tena) Godfrey; 36 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years on March 14, 2010; sons, Howard Karl, William Danny and Norman Keith; sisters, Kate Rogers, Laverna Conley and Iva Blake; brother, James 'Joe' Strerling and daughter-in-law, Carol Godfrey.
