Ogden - George Anderson, 93, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2010 with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born on July 7, 1916 in Ashdown, Arkansas to Arthur and Lillie Woods Anderson. George was a veteran who served in the Army during WWII.

He married Cornelius "Honey" Scott in 1930, she proceeded him in death in 1987. He then met and married Edna Langston on Feb 5, 1988.

George was one of the first African American railroad employees in Utah, working for Southern Pacific as a Foreman for over 30 years. He was an original founder of the New Zion Baptist Church of Ogden, Utah where he served as Deacon for over 50 years. George enjoyed fishing, working on cars, traveling, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife Edna; 2 daughters, Pearlean Rowena (Rafael) Torres, and Edna Harris; 1 son, Daleforde Langston; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Carpenter, Tanya Evans (currently serving in Afghanistan), George L. "Shay" Hunt l, Michael Shaun Langston, Cornetta Harris, Tony Harris; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Will Anderson, 2 sisters - Birdanna Jackson and Lillie Trotter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter "Beverly".

Friends may call on Friday, April 16th at Myers Mortuary; 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, 84401.Funeral services will be held; Saturday at April 17th, at the New Zion Baptist Church; 2935 Lincoln Avenue, Ogden, Utah 84401.

Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
