Death: 2007

Pauline Josephine Ahlin 1928 ~ 2007 Pauline's life was blessed with loving and being loved, a strong faith in the Lord, sincere friends and family that made life a wonderful journey. Pauline was born to Anton and Matilda Sluga Tonc January 28, 1928 in Helper, Utah and spoke lovingly about her adventures growing up in Carbon County with siblings Tillie, George, Annie, Helen, Julia, Tony, and Lou. She married that handsome Marine, Martin Ahlin, and they launched on a great adventure devoted to each other, their children, and anyone in need. Her heart and her home were always open and she always put the welfare and feelings of others before her own. She valued honesty and integrity and was guided by a strong moral and ethical compass. She was the first to volunteer, be it for a Catholic Women's League event, or simply cleaning up after a party...for which there were many. She leaves behind, Marty, her husband of 60 years; and the legacy of which she was most proud, Michael and Claudia, Bohdan, Adam, Peggy and Ron Weiss, Alisha and David, Brian and Becky; Mary Jo and Dane Falkner, DJ, Sara and Ben and the loves of her life, "Gram's Erica" and "Namie's Nicholas," her favorite "sun" Jeff Oliver; as well as brother, Louie and Madeline Tonc; and sisters-in-law, Edith Tonc, Mary Jones, and Jo Rasmussen; and so many nieces and nephews who can't imagine life without Aunt Pauline. She has filled our days with sunshine, our hearts with joy, our minds with intrigue and our souls with goodness. Pauline taught us to celebrate everything and we now plan to celebrate her at a Funeral Mass Wednesday, October 24th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1385 East Spring Lane in Holladay. The family will greet guests from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the funeral following. Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor. Pauline asked that in lieu of flowers, support be given to our family's private, non-profit foundation that was created to help those less fortunate. Tax deductible donations may be sent to Christmas Brick Foundation, PO Box 57404, SLC, UT 84157-0404
