Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Glenwood ward chapel for Andrew "Pat" Anderson on who died Saturday at his home in Glenwood after a years illness.
James Hoyle of the ward bishopric conducted the services the choir sang, "Rock of Ages," "Oh My Father," and "Sometime We'll Understand," Albert Oldroyd acted as chorister with Miss Lena Peterson as accompanist. A trio was sung by the Misses Hilda, Irene and Leah Rickenbach. Speakers were Andrew Oldroyd, a boyhood chum and cousin of Mr. Anderson; Christian Peterson of Richfield and J. H. Payne. Miss Hilda Rickenbach read "The Dead" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The invocation was by Bishop Lester Buchanan of Venice; the benediction by Bishop J. Elmer Sorenson.
Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery. I. S. Hansen dedicated the grave.
Pallbearers were Frank Anderson of Richfield, Archie Anderson of Monroe, Parley Anderson of Burrville, Willard Anderson of Annabella and Oliver Anderson of Glenwood, brothers, and Frank J. Heppler of Richfield, a brother in law.
Relief society members carried the many floral tributes.
Andrew Anderson was born March 6, 1871, at Ephraim, a son of Andrew 0. and Johanna Stormfield Anderson, with his parents he moved to Glenwood as a small boy and had since resided there, following the occupation of his father, a sheepman. He married Martha Sampson but she died at the birth of their first child, the baby dying also. Later he married Carrie Hansen and to them were born six children, five sons and a daughter, when the daughter was three months old the mother died, leaving Mr. Anderson to care for the family.
Surviving are the five sons and the daughter Abe, Val and Shirley Anderson of Glenwood, Von Anderson of Blackfoot, Idaho, Oscar and Earl Anderson of Richfield. The following brothers and sisters survive, Frank Anderson, Richfield; Archie Anderson, Monroe; Parley Anderson, Burrville; Willard Anderson, Annabella; Oliver Anderson, Glenwood; Mrs. Carrie Heppler, Richfield; Mrs. Josephine Jones, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Marinda Nielson, Ogden; Mrs. Clara Pederson, Ephraim and Mrs. Mary Oldroyd, Glenwood.
