In World War II he served our country four and a half years the 145 Division of the Army. Most of his service days were spent in the South Pacific doing what they called Island Hopping. He was on the clean up detail for Pearl Harbor. After he returned home he married Clarel Jensen on September 26, 1945. They are the parents of two girls and a boy. Their son died in infancy.
Keith and Clarel lived on a farm before they bought and operated a small town grocery store in Centerfield. Keith also was a school bus driver. He like his father before him had all the kids eating out of his hand. The kids loved him and the feeling was mutual. He retired from driving the bus and they soon sold the store.
Keith learned his love of the mountains from his mother. There wasn't anywhere he would rather be than camping and riding in the mountains. There are many memories of campouts and hunts with not only his family, but all the neices and nephews. When a campout was planned - if Keith and Clarel were there it was always more fun for everyone.
Keith loved to have his family and extended family around him. All the family members hold many special memories of their Uncle Keith. Even though he is gone - he certainly is not forgotten.
