Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Kenneth Fay Baker, age 88, died January 25, 1996 at his home in Bicknell.
He was born October 15, 1907 in Thurber, Utah a son of Benjamin John and Samantha LuCinda Mangum Baker. He married Rachel Wood, September 21, 1931 in Lyman, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, July 26, 1945.
Ken taught social studies at Wayne High School for 42 years. He was also the basketball coach and drivers ed. teacher. He was very active in the LDS Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and loved gathering firewood. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, of Bicknell; children, Byron and Marjorie Baker, of Omaha, Nebraska; Evelyn and Grant Back, of Cedar City; Elayne and Kjae Leslie, of Murray; Judy and Gary Evans, of Salt Lake City; Ben J. and Jay Baker, of Magna; LuCinda and Charles Wilson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; David Kent Baker, of Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, brother and sister, Claud Baker, of Bicknell; Eva Ellett, of East Carbon City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Baker, three brothers and three sisters, Clarence, Max, William, Thelma Baker, Leah Savage, and Emma Forsyth.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 30, 1996, 1 p.m. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Bicknell, Tuesday, 11 a.m.-12:30 prior to services. Burial, Bicknell Cemetery.
