Catharina Elisabeth Manz was born in Kolb, Russia. Following the death of her first husband, Herr Deisel, she married Johann Jacob Adler 6 Jan 1893 in Kolb. The family immigrated to the United States in 1908. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jacob in 1917; daughter Anna Elisabeth Ditter; step-daughter Catharina Elisabeth Horst; and sons George and Adam Adler.
Katherine was survived by her sons Conrad [Maude], Jacob, John [Elizabeth], and Fred [Susanna]; step-sons Henry [Mary] and Peter [Mary]; 20 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Katherine remarried the third time to George Ross of Portland, Oregon, where she then resided for over 20 years, but following his death in the 1940s, she returned to live out her life with her family in Tacoma.
