Kathryn Luvern Achen passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2011 at the age of 103 in Bellingham, Washington.
She was born on a farm in Zurich, MT. Luvern was predeceased by her husband, Ray Achen; sister, Esther Brown; daughter, Janet Parker; and grandson, Michael Parker.
She was an avid gardener, known for her great beefsteak tomatoes. Luvern had a unique ability to connect with people and develop genuine friendships everywhere she lived.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Lew (Hannah) Achen; grandchildren, Becky Parker (Tom), Peggy Parker, Mori (Maryann), Achen, Merri Ann (Dan) Allan, Eric (Elizabeth) Achen and Allyn Parker; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Parker (Dan), Kenny Allan, Gian Achen, Deborah Allan, Evan Achen, Addison Parker and all of her many friends.
Services were held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Spokane, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011.
