Elinor Louise Adams passed away March 13, 2008, at the age of 88. Born the daughter of a miner, she moved from Snohomish to Coulee City as a teenager and called the community home for more than 70 years. Elinor, known as "Babe" to her friends and family, married Clarence in 1938, and together they ran the Pilot Rock Ranch, where they raised cattle and grew wheat. Along the way, she also had seven children, two sons and five daughters. After her husband's death in 1976, Elinor traveled extensively and the pins she would keep on a map, highlighted her journeys -- from China, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Africa and even Panama. A 4H leader for 15 years, she was also a lifetime Grange member. Elinor is survived by her children, Marlene Poulson, Judy Bach, Diane Griffith-Adams, Peggy Pierpoint, Gary Adams and Connie Adams; not to mention 19 grandchildren; at least 34 great-grandchildren; and a couple of great-great-grandchildren. Elinor lived her life in grace and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, March 20, 2008, at the Coulee City Presbyterian Church.
