CROSS ROADS - Services for Donald E. "Don" Piper Sr., 66, Cross Roads, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cayuga Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Thom Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery under direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.

Mr. Piper died March 17, 2007, in a Temple hospital.

He was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Dallas to William Marcus and Flora Bell Ross Piper. He served in the Marine Corps, was a self-employed contractor and surveyor, and a member of Cayuga Assembly of God Church. He lived in Henderson County for 40 years, and was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Piper.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Piper, Cross Roads; son, Donny Piper, Willow Springs; daughters, Shari Musick, Cross Roads, and Terri Okun, Belton; father and stepmother, William M. and Pauline Piper, Grand Prairie; brothers, Bill Piper, Mansfield, and Harold Johnson, Grand Prairie; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Justin Hart, Chris Rogers, Jimmy Okun, Homer Vorse, David Musick and Jewel Lindsey.

Honorary pallbearers are Donny Hustead, Will Hustead, Billy Stewart, John Bevel, Johnny Ervin, Chris Cambra and Bryan Monroe.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
