Albert Donald Clark of Cosmopolis, WA passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was 88. Al was born May 30, 1922 in Loveland, Colorado to Wesley and Pauline (Cearley).
Al was raised in Loveland, CO and had lived in Las Vegas, NV for 25 years before moving to Cosmopolis.
On November 9, 1947 Al married the love of his life, Virginia Lebsack. They just celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Virginia survives him at the family home.
Al proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was an instructor for jet mechanics. During his enlistment they lived in Newfoundland for several years and Mt. Home, Idaho when he retired. He had also worked as a machinist for 20 years at Hewlett Packard.
Al enjoyed woodworking, volunteering at church and also volunteered countless hours at Martin's Mart which is a Lutheran Thrift Store. Al received the Andre' Agassi Volunteer of the Year Service Award for the volunteer work he did for Martin's Mart in Las Vegas. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Virginia, Al is survived by his son, Alan (Teida) Clark of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Dr. Vicki (Kenneth) Mitchell of Cosmopolis, WA; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary, 311 W. Market St. in Aberdeen followed by a celebration of Al's life with full military honors at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations are suggested to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 111 E. 4th, Aberdeen, WA 98520.
