Fred Abner, 76, of Chelan, died at his home Saturday evening following a sudden illness.
Mr. Abner was born at St. Paul, Ark., on March 25, 1895. He was an Army veteran of World War I and following his discharge was married to Cora Long on Jan. 26, 1919 at Dutton, Ark. They made their home in Arkansas where Mr. Abner farmed and also was a blacksmith. In 1942 they moved to Chelan where Mr. Abner was employed with Wenatchee Beebe Orchard Co., until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Connie Calliway, of Athena, Ore., Mrs. Wayne Robins, of Manson, Mrs. Silvanus Easley, of Chelan, Mrs. Ronald Medley, of Pomona, Calif., and Mrs. George Conley, of Cashmere; a brother, Jeff, of Springdale, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Daily Baker of Ozark, Ark.; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
