Phyllis Elizabeth (Bucholz) Ausman was born in Asotin on May 31, 1911, to Edward and Elizabeth Jones Bucholz. She graduated from Asotin High School and attended Cheney Normal School, now Eastern Washington University.
She married Earle Ausman May 23, 1931, at Asotin. They farmed and raised cattle at Ten Mile Ranch above Asotin on Ten Mile Creek. She was a homemaker and he was active in county government. They retired in 1979 and moved into the city of Asotin. He died in 1988.
She was a member of the Asotin Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Asotin County Grange. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting numerous places around the world, including India. She also enjoyed yard work and time spent with her family.
She was a lifelong resident of Asotin and died of causes related to age.
