James William Applington, 61, died at St. Joseph's hospital yesterday afternoon at 4 from injuries suffered in a fall from a cliff near the John Day on the upper Snake river Thursday. He was born Feb 23, 1886, at Alemna, Kan., but came west as a young man and had lived in Asotin county for 40 years. Applington never married. He is survived by a brother, Cliff Applington, Clarkston, and five sisters, Mrs. Rena Allen, Seattle; Mrs. Reta Allen, Clarkston; Mrs. Clara Boggan, Clarkston; Mrs. Ella Warden, Medford, Ore., and Mrs. Edna Heald, Orofino. The body is at Merchant's. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
